Daylight Saving Time. What's a mom to do?
How does one navigate the treacherous waters of Daylight Saving Time you ask? There's a way! Trust me! Keep reading and I'll guide you along your passage.
Get ready to “Spring Forward!” "Springing forward" is not nearly as fun and jovial as one might think. In fact, it is quite dreadul as it means mom, dad and kiddo/s lose a full, precious hour of sleep. Daylight Saving Time (DST) wreaks havoc on our internal body clock and is the likely culprit for the 8% increase in traffic accidents the day after DST. Many of you know just how devastating it is and I'm here to help you navigate it's murky waters.
Here's what you do: Adjust all naps and bedtime by 30 minutes. If you usually put babe down for nap at 10:00 am, you will now put him/her down for nap at 10:30 am. Same goes for bed. Do this for 3 days and by day 4 move all naps and bedtime to their regularly scheduled time. I highly suggest that mom/dad do the same. After about 1-2 weeks everyone should have adjusted to the new normal. DST is a pain but we will get through it together by following these simple steps. I'm happy to have cleared the fog for you!
